How to Deposit Bitcoin at an Online Casino

A practical walkthrough of a Bitcoin casino deposit — preparing your wallet, copying the address, sending the transfer, waiting for confirmations, and the mistakes that cost players money.

To deposit Bitcoin at an online casino, open the cashier, choose Bitcoin as your method, and copy the deposit address it generates. Paste that address into your own wallet, enter the amount and send. The transfer is broadcast to the Bitcoin network, and once it has the required confirmations your casino balance credits and you can play.

It takes about two minutes of clicking and a short wait. The whole art is in the details — using the right address, the right network and a sensible fee — because a blockchain transfer cannot be undone once it is on its way.

Before You Start: What You Need

Three things have to be in place before you open the cashier:

  • A wallet you control — either an account on a cryptocurrency exchange or a self-custody wallet app or hardware device. Either can send a deposit; exchange withdrawals sometimes carry their own internal fee and processing delay.
  • BTC in that wallet, plus a little extra to cover the network fee, which is charged on top of the amount you send.
  • A verified casino account. Registering takes a moment, and completing identity verification early is worth doing because it is normally required before a first withdrawal anyway.

If any of these words are unfamiliar, read our overview of what a crypto casino is first — it explains wallets, addresses and confirmations from scratch.

Step by Step: Making the Deposit

  • Step 1 — Open the cashier. At Lunaris this is the wallet icon with the '+' symbol at the top right of the screen. It has two tabs, Deposit and Payout.
  • Step 2 — Choose Crypto, then Bitcoin. The deposit tab offers All Methods, Card, Crypto and Alternative. Under Crypto you can select BTC, ETH or LTC.
  • Step 3 — Enter the amount. The crypto minimum is $20 USD with no maximum. If you intend to claim a bonus, check the promotion terms first, since bonus eligibility starts at a $100 deposit.
  • Step 4 — Copy the address the cashier shows you, or scan the QR code with your wallet app. A new address is generated for every transaction, so never reuse one from a previous deposit.
  • Step 5 — Paste it into your wallet and check the first and last several characters against the cashier screen. Never retype an address by hand.
  • Step 6 — Confirm the network. You are sending BTC on the Bitcoin network. Sending a different asset, or the right asset over the wrong network, can mean the funds are lost.
  • Step 7 — Set a fee and send. Most wallets suggest one automatically. A higher fee is confirmed sooner when the network is congested; a very low fee can leave the transaction waiting.
  • Step 8 — Wait for confirmations. Lunaris credits crypto deposits after 2 confirmations on the blockchain. In normal conditions this is a matter of minutes.

A Worked Example With Real Numbers

Say you want $200 of play money in your account and you are funding it with Bitcoin from an exchange account.

ItemAmountNotes
Deposit you want credited$200Well above the $20 crypto minimum
BTC sent from your wallet$200 equivalentConverted at the rate shown by your wallet
Network feeVariesPaid from your wallet, on top of the $200
Confirmations required2Before the balance appears
Credited balance$200Available across the whole game library

Two things are worth noticing. First, the network fee is an extra cost, not a deduction — the full amount you sent is what arrives. Second, because BTC's price moves, the dollar figure your wallet quotes when you hit send is a snapshot; the exact credited value can differ slightly if the market moves while the transaction confirms. Players who dislike that variability often use a dollar-pegged stablecoin instead.

If you were also claiming a bonus, remember how the wagering maths works at Lunaris: a $100 deposit with a $100 bonus gives a $200 total balance, and at 20x that means $4,000 of wagers before a withdrawal of bonus winnings can be approved. Our guide to how casino bonuses work walks through that calculation properly.

Sending From an Exchange Versus a Personal Wallet

Both work, but they behave differently and it is worth knowing which you are using.

An exchange account is convenient because you can buy BTC and send it from the same place. The trade-offs are that the exchange holds the coins on your behalf, may apply its own withdrawal fee and daily limits, and can hold a transfer for its own security review — a delay that has nothing to do with the casino or the blockchain. Some exchanges also require you to whitelist a destination address before the first send.

A self-custody wallet, whether a phone app or a hardware device, puts you in direct control. You choose the fee, there is no third-party review, and the transaction goes straight to the network. The responsibility is also yours: lose the recovery phrase and no one can restore access.

For a first deposit, whichever one you already understand is the right choice. What matters is that the address, the coin and the network match the cashier screen.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sending the wrong coin. Bitcoin belongs at a Bitcoin address. Coins sent to an address for a different asset are generally unrecoverable.
  • Choosing the wrong network. Some assets exist on several chains. The cashier tells you which one to use — follow it exactly.
  • Retyping the address. One wrong character sends the money somewhere neither you nor the casino can reach. Copy or scan, always.
  • Reusing an old address. A fresh address is issued for each transaction; an old one may not credit your balance.
  • Sending below the minimum. A transfer worth less than $20 USD does not meet the crypto deposit minimum.
  • Attaching a fee that is too low when the network is busy, which leaves the transaction pending far longer than expected.

Check twice, send once

Blockchain transfers are final. Confirm the coin, the network and the address before you sign — those three checks prevent almost every deposit problem.

Common Misconceptions

  • Myth: a Bitcoin deposit is instantaneous. Reality: it is fast, but it still needs confirmations. Two are required at Lunaris before the funds show.
  • Myth: the casino takes its fee out of my deposit. Reality: the network fee comes from your wallet, on top of the amount sent. What you send is what is credited.
  • Myth: I can cancel a transaction if I notice a mistake quickly. Reality: once broadcast and confirmed, it cannot be reversed by anyone.
  • Myth: depositing in crypto keeps me anonymous. Reality: the ledger is public, and operators still run identity checks. New Lunaris players may need to complete KYC before a first withdrawal is approved, usually within 24 hours.
  • Myth: a bigger deposit improves my chances. Reality: game outcomes are random and stake size does not change a game's return to player. See what RTP means for why that is a long-run average, not a promise.

After Your First Deposit

Repeat deposits follow the same flow, with a fresh address each time. The two things worth doing early are completing identity verification, so a first cashout is not held up by paperwork, and reading up on the way out before you need it — our guide to crypto casino withdrawals covers processing, verification and payout limits.

Once the balance lands you can play anything in the casino lobby, from the slots library to live dealer tables, and current offers are listed on the promotions page.
